South Beach Community Center
500 old Florida trail, Melbourne beach
We ventured to the south part of the county to visit South Beach Community Center. I have never been to this park before and honestly I didn’t even know it existed. But what a nice surprise it ended up being. This park is huge- several pavilions, dog park, restrooms, walking path, fields, gymnasium, and a SHADED playground.
This playground is listed for kids 5-12. My toddler had a blast playing on the smaller section of playground equipment. However there were a few “exits” that made me nervous.
Pros
- two infant swings, two big kid swings
- sunshade covers all of the playground except for the swings
- new musical instruments added to the sidewalk
- 7 slides!
- lots of climbing equipment
Cons
- a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the playground
- not fenced in but away from any road
- playground has lots of “exits” for toddlers to fall
I loved this playground! The sunshade was a nice bonus. Defiantly worth the drive.
