4th of July Events in Brevard County 2026

4th of July events in Brevard County

The 4th of July is one of my absolute favorite holidays to celebrate on the Space Coast, and honestly, Brevard County does it better than just about anywhere. Between the waterfront fireworks, the free family events, the live music, and this year’s extra-special America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, we have so many incredible options to choose from. Whether you are in Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, Palm Bay, Titusville, or anywhere in between, there is something happening close to home.I pulled together everything you need to know about 4th of July events in Brevard County 2026 so you can skip the research and get straight to the planning. I have the dates, times, locations, costs, and a few insider mom tips mixed in to help make your holiday weekend as smooth and fun as possible.Let’s get into it!

Friday, July 3rd: Kick Off the Holiday Weekend Early

Who says you have to wait until the 4th? Brevard County has not one but two big events happening on Friday evening that are absolutely worth getting out for. Both are free and both are going to be packed, so plan ahead!

1. Smoke on the Water & Fire in the Sky — Port Canaveral

Date: Friday, July 3, 2026

Time: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Location: The Cove District at Port Canaveral, 520 Glen Cheek Dr, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

Cost:
FREE Admission | Parking is free for restaurant patrons at The Cove (until lots fill up) or $15 per vehicle in designated event lots

This one is always a highlight of the holiday weekend, and this year it carries extra meaning as part of the U.S. 250th anniversary celebrations. The Cove Merchants Association hosts a massive fireworks show right over the harbor, and the energy down there is always amazing. Families can spread out on the lawn and dining areas throughout the Cove District to watch the show.

One thing to keep in mind: there are no public viewing areas on the north side of the port or along State Road 401, so stick to The Cove for your viewing spot. If you want to grab dinner at one of the restaurants there, you will get free parking, which is a nice bonus on a busy night like this.

Mom Tip: Arrive early to snag a good lawn spot and grab dinner before the crowds hit. Things fill up fast at The Cove on holiday weekends.

2. America’s 250 Celebration & Drone Show — Cocoa Beach

Date: Friday, July 3, 2026

Time: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM | Drone Show at 9:00 PM sharp

Location: Centennial Square, 2 S Orlando Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931

Cost: FREE

If you have never seen a synchronized drone light show, this is the year to go. Instead of traditional fireworks, Downtown Cocoa Beach is lighting up the sky with a spectacular drone show at 9:00 PM as part of the America’s 250th celebration. For kids, this kind of thing is genuinely mind-blowing to watch.

Before the show, the whole area turns into a street party with carnival midway games, a dedicated Kid Zone, a family photo booth, and live music by Tidal Theory. It is a full evening of fun and the free price tag makes it an easy yes.

Mom Tip: The Kid Zone is a lifesaver if you have little ones who need to burn off energy before the 9:00 PM drone show. Build in dinner time before you go so you are not hunting for food in the crowds.

Saturday, July 4th: The Big Day — Events All Across Brevard

Saturday is packed from top to bottom in Brevard County. No matter where you live, there is something close to you. Here is a rundown of every major event happening on the 4th.

3. MelBOOM 4th of July Fireworks Celebration — Melbourne

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM | Food trucks at 3:00 PM | Family activities and shuttles at 5:00 PM | Fireworks at 9:00 PM

Location: Front Street Park, 2210 Front Street, Melbourne, FL 32901

Cost: FREE Admission and FREE Shuttle Buses

MelBOOM is one of my personal favorites and it is such a well-organized event for families. The city of Melbourne goes all out with face painting, a free photo booth, temporary tattoos, and a T-shirt toss. The Phoenix Band takes the stage at 6:45 PM and then the fireworks go off over the lagoon at 9:00 PM. The waterfront setting makes the fireworks extra beautiful.

Here is the biggest tip I can give you for MelBOOM: do not try to park at Front Street Park. Park for free at the Melbourne Auditorium at 625 Hibiscus Blvd and hop on the free continuous shuttle buses instead. It makes the whole night so much easier and your kids will think the shuttle ride is its own little adventure.

Also worth noting: personal canopies and tents are not allowed so they don’t block anyone’s view. Bring low lawn chairs or a blanket instead.

4. Symphony Under the Stars — Cocoa Village

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: Lawn opens at 6:00 PM | Concert at 8:00 PM | Fireworks at 9:15 PM

Location: Cocoa Riverfront Park

Cost: FREE General Admission (bring your own lawn chairs or blankets) | Optional VIP Upgrade: $65 for BSO subscribers / $80 for non-subscribers, which includes reserved parking, a BBQ buffet dinner at 6:30 PM inside the Cocoa Civic Center, and premium reserved seating

Symphony Under the Stars is a Space Coast tradition and one of the most beautiful ways to spend the 4th of July. The Brevard Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gregory Buchalter, performs patriotic and family-friendly classics that build right into a fireworks finale over the Indian River. There is something so special about watching fireworks to live orchestra music, especially with your kids.

General admission is completely free, so you can pack a blanket and snacks, find your spot on the riverfront lawn, and enjoy the whole evening at no cost. If you want the full experience with reserved seating and dinner, the VIP option is a nice treat. Food trucks and Cocoa Village restaurants are also accessible throughout the evening.

5. Palm Bay’s Annual Independence Day Celebration — Palm Bay

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM | Fireworks begin around 9:15 PM

Location: Eastern Florida State College Palm Bay Campus, 250 Community College Pkwy SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909

Cost: FREE Admission and FREE Parking

If you are in the south part of the county, Palm Bay’s celebration is the one for your family. This event is billed as one of the largest bashes on the coast and it is seriously kid-centric. The Kids’ Zone is completely free and loaded with inflatables, backyard games, airbrush tattoos, and a giant foam pit. My kids would stay in a foam pit all night if I let them.

Add in live music, vendors, food trucks, and fireworks to close out the night and you have a full evening of fun without spending a dime on admission or parking. That is a major win for any family budget.

6. Red, White & Boom Over North Brevard & America 250 Parade — Titusville

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: Parade from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM | Evening Celebration from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM | Fireworks at dark

Location: Parade along U.S. Route 1 near 555 S Washington Ave | Evening Event at Sand Point Park, 101 North Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32796

Cost: FREE

Titusville brings it all day long on the 4th. Start your morning with the America 250 Semiquincentennial Parade running along U.S. Route 1 and then come back in the evening for the big celebration at Sand Point Park. The park fills up with gourmet food trucks, local vendor booths, face painting, and bounce houses, and then caps the night with a major fireworks show reflecting over the Indian River. That water reflection makes for some gorgeous photos.

If you are looking for a full day of 4th of July activities from morning to night, Titusville is your answer.

7. The Great American Celebration — Viera

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: Fireworks at 9:00 PM

Location: Near USSSA Space Coast Complex, 6091 Stadium Pkwy, Melbourne, FL 32940

Cost: FREE

The Great American Celebration in Viera is perfect for families who want a more low-key, relaxed experience. Think of it as a classic drive-in style fireworks night: find your spot in one of the surrounding designated areas, set up your lawn chairs, and look up at a massive aerial display filling the sky just east of the USSSA Space Coast Complex. There is no big crowd to navigate and no shuttles to catch. Just park, settle in, and enjoy the show.

This one is great for families with younger kids or babies who are better off watching from the comfort of your own setup.

8. MBVFA 4th of July Party in the Park — Melbourne Beach

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Time: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location: Ryckman Park, 509 Ocean Avenue, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951

Cost: FREE Admission | Food, snacks, and beverages available for purchase to support the charity

Hosted by the Melbourne Beach Volunteer Firefighters Association, this community gathering is one of the sweetest, most laid-back events of the holiday weekend. Local bands rock out all afternoon in a beautiful beachside park setting, food trucks are on-site, and the whole vibe is relaxed and family-friendly. It is a great spot to grab dinner and enjoy live music right before fireworks light up both the river and ocean skylines nearby. Purchasing food and drinks at this event also supports a great local cause, which is something I always love.

Mom Tips for a Stress-Free 4th of July on the Space Coast

After years of taking my kids to these events, I have picked up a few things that make the night go so much smoother. Here is what I always tell the moms in our community:

  • Bring glow sticks. They are cheap, they keep kids entertained during the wait, and they make it easy to spot your little ones in the dark crowd. Grab a big pack before you go.
  • Pack noise-canceling headphones or ear protection for little ones. Fireworks are loud, and having a pair on hand can be the difference between a magical night and a meltdown.

  • Arrive earlier than you think you need to. Every single one of these events draws a big crowd. If you want a good spot, you need to get there early. For evening events, I like to aim for at least an hour before the entertainment starts.

  • Bring a wagon or stroller for little kids. The walk from parking to the event and back can feel like a mile when you have a tired toddler at 10:00 PM. A wagon is a game-changer.

  • Check the event pages before you go. Things can shift with weather or logistics, especially in Florida in July. A quick check of the official city or event website the morning of the 4th can save you a wasted trip.

  • Snap a photo of your kids at the start of the evening. It sounds overprotective, but in a big crowd, having a current photo of what your child is wearing on your phone is just a smart safety habit.
